Wayde Carroll is an award-winning freelance photographer based in Anchorage, Alaska, where he lives with his wife and two children. He specializes in editorial assignments, lifestyle and travel stock photography, and on-location commercial and architectural photography. For the last seven years he has also enjoyed leading photography tours and workshops in Alaska and around the globe.

After receiving a B.A. in Art, with an emphasis in photography from San Jose State University in 1993, Wayde headed to Alaska to hone his photographic skills. He spent a year documenting the lives of the Yup'ik people in the bush village of Eek, then two years assisting some of Anchorage's top photographers, including Tom Bol and Clark Mishler. In 2006, he quit his “real job” and started working full-time as a photographer.

Currently he is the Program Chair for the Alaska Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. His stock images are represented by several agencies and his images are regularly published in numerous regional and national magazines, books, calendars, websites, newspapers, and annual reports. Some of his clients that you may be familiar with include Reuters, National Geographic Maps, Alaska Magazine, First Alaskans Magazine, New Mexico Magazine, VIA, Sonoma Magazine, California Tour and Travel, Sierra Heritage, Anchorage Daily News, The Sacramento Bee, The Milepost, BP, and Providence Hospital.

Wayde's love for discovering new places and providing fresh looks for familiar locales has made for happy and consistent clients. He has led repeated nature and travel photo safaris and workshops in such locales as Alaska, California, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Tanzania, and more. Wayde's easy going style, dedication to his clients' education and happiness, patience, and attention to detail have garnered satisfied client/students that travel with him repeatedly.
