Mounting and Displaying Photographs
Now that you have the print, how do you mount it for display or for submission to photo club competitions? We will answer your questions and show you how to mount and display your photos beautifully, like a pro. In this hands-on interactive session, we will cover the three most popular methods of mounting and displaying your photographs:
This class is given in a single 3.5 hour session and will demonstrate mounting images using each of the three techniques. Attendees are encouraged to bring in three of their own images, which they can mount, each using a different technique. All materials and tools will be provided. The attendee's image must meet the following specification for the mounting technique selected:
The class covers and includes:
Note: If you don't have a print of the required size, we will print one from your supplied digital file as long as it is sent in one week before the class starts. Contact jan@canvasworthy.com to discuss the best way to deliver the image. There is an additional $25 fee for the printing (for one or all prints) that will be collected at class time. For the mattes and display board mounting, a premium Luster paper will be used. For the Canvas Wrap, a premium canvas will be used and will be sprayed with a UV protecting, scratch resistant coating. |
Other Printing Classes
We offer a variety of printing classes for every skill level: Instructor: Jan Silverman
Jan's Passion for photography began in high school, where his talents were quickly recognized when he was asked to become the class photographer. He developed all of his own black & white prints in a "dark room" in his home. After earning two engineering degrees followed by a successful career in high tech marketing, Jan shifted his attention back to his real passion...photography & printing. Today he is a professional photographer, printer and instructor. His clients are primarily professional photographers whose prints are displayed in galleries, studios, and office buildings. Jan uses only the highest quality archival material for his finished product, and his clients have come to depend on him for his superior work. He also teaches courses on digital printing at Aperture Academy, in which the photographer learns how to create high quality printed images from their own printer. Additionally, Jan makes himself available for personalized instruction and calibration services, as well as the use of his own professional equipment. Jan Carl Silverman
